The hessian regional capital Wiesbaden and the region Rheingau-Taunus present themselves in 2007 as a sports region for the IRONMAN Germany 70.3: The one-loop swim course will feature wave starts in the „harbor of Schierstein“, adjacent to the river Rhein. The bike course will take the athletes on one loop through beautiful, but hilly landscapes of the sorrounding Rheingau and Taunus. Finally, the athletes have to run three times through the wonderful spa gardens. The finish-line will be in front of the Kurhaus, the most historic landmark of the City of Wiesbaden.
Wiesbaden and the surrounding area not only offers perfect conditions for a versatile sport like triathlon, it is one of the most popular cities for shopping and well known for attractive touristic destinations. Very inviting boat tours on the river Rhein, vineyards and winery, old castles, Rüdesheim – the wine capital, the monastery of Eberbach, the Loreley and many more. |
